CHARLESTON, S.C. — Early voting in Charleston County wrapped up Saturday with turnout well ahead of the last general election, after the county logged its busiest single day of the cycle on Friday.
County election officials counted more than 10,000 ballots on Friday, Oct. 30, a new one-day high. Younger voters drove much of that surge: roughly 45% of Friday voters were under 44.
Across the two-week window, the county early vote passed 89,000, roughly 20,000 above its 2024 mark. Statewide early turnout also set a record.
Officials pointed to strong interest in this year races and the ease of voting ahead of time. Saturday, which fell on Halloween, was the last early voting day, and the county seven sites ran from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Polls open Tuesday, Nov. 3, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Bring a photo ID that is valid, and check your assigned precinct before you go. Mailed-in absentee ballots have to reach the elections office by poll closing time.
