Among the payments drawing attention is $64,584 that flowed to the Circle of Life Foundation through COVID-19 relief funding, a grant board members want auditors to trace in detail given the size of the payment relative to the foundation’s typical footprint. Trustees have not said publicly when the vendor review or the newly discussed independent audit might conclude, but the recusal by a sitting board member signals that the process is expected to extend into the district’s ongoing personnel and governance questions rather than remain a narrow financial exercise.
