CHARLESTON, S.C. — From a Charleston-linked campaign call this week, President Donald Trump pressed South Carolina voters to elect Sen. Darline Graham, Attorney General Alan Wilson as governor, and House hopeful Jenny Honeycutt.

Trump cast the Nov. 3 ballot as a referendum on his agenda, telling listeners to act as if he himself appeared on every line and to treat each race that way.

He praised Graham, who took the seat after Lindsey Graham died earlier this year, and said he had urged her to seek the full term.

Graham used her turn to draw a hard contrast with her Democratic Senate opponent and to underline a conservative platform ahead of early voting, which opens Oct. 19.

Wilson, still serving as attorney general, said his campaign for governor would focus on lower living costs, sharper accountability in state government, and a stronger climate for local businesses.

Honeycutt thanked the president for his endorsement and said she is preparing for a debate with her House opponent as the campaign stretches to Election Day.
