Charleston-Based Commercial Contractor Breaks Ground On New Logistics Center

According to a recent announcement, Berenyi Inc, a prominent commercial design-build firm based in Charleston, has initiated a groundbreaking on a 30-acre site for the construction of a high-profile logistics center. Berenyi will operate as the general contractor for Capital Development Partners’ new Central Port Logistics Center Class A warehouse development project, which is situated in Savannah, Georgia.

This ongoing project entails Berenyi constructing two warehouses simultaneously, each spanning over 150,000 square feet in a tilt-up structure, to accommodate a rushed timetable. The top-tier commercial design-build firm has committed to implementing its turnkey services beyond the Lowcountry while collaborating with Capital Development Partners, a national developer with a strategic position that positively impacts Georgia’s economy.

Engaging in High-Stakes Construction Bio

As the chosen general contractor, Berenyi Inc is now managing the design-build process of the new logistics center, a directive given by Capital Development Partners. CDP is a national industrial real estate and infrastructure developer that recognizes the value and impact of the US port markets.

The ambitious project will encompass 300,000 square feet of spec industrial warehouse space across a 30-acre plot. CDP acquired this significant parcel in the summer of 2023. Characteristic of Class A facilities, the warehouses can be subdivided to as low as 30,000 square feet and are dimensioned to be prepared for occupancy by March 2025.

The Ideal Location

The Central Port Logistics Center boasts a strategic and favorable location within Savannah’s high-speed corridor, where it enjoys approximately one mile of highway frontage. This project’s undeniable potential and anticipation have attracted other parties in this ambitious undertaking, with Coleman Co., Inc onboard as the civil engineer and BRR Architecture Inc serving as the architect.

A Step Ahead in Boosting Economy

This project showcase’s Berenyi Inc’s fasting-tracking design-build project delivery experience. Jordan Behringer, the managing partner at Berenyi, stated that the collaboration with Capital Development Partners allows the Charleston-based firm to ensure a successful outcome as they continue to develop the Central Port Logistics Center Industrial Park at Rockingham.

Through this undertaking, Berenyi is extending its reach in delivering its unique knowledge and services beyond the Lowcountry while simultaneously contributing to the uplift of Georgia’s economy.

The will to conceive, plan and execute such ambitious industrial development projects is a testament to the involved parties’ commitment to continuous infrastructural enhancement. It provides an exciting look into the future, in which strategically positioned logistics facilities adequately service the present and future demands of the industrial real estate, infrastructure, and the US port markets.
