Charleston, SC – Christian Reeves, a 7-foot-2 center, has officially committed to the College of Charleston, as announced on April 16, 2025. This transfer marks a new opportunity for Reeves, who previously played for both Duke and Clemson.

Reeves, originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking increased playing time and an opportunity to further develop his skills at the mid-major level following his time in the highly competitive ACC. During the 2024-25 season, he participated in a career-high 29 games for Clemson, averaging 1.2 points and 1.5 rebounds per game over an average of 5.1 minutes on the court.

At Clemson, Reeves made one start and displayed noticeable efficiency, shooting 50% from the field on 12-of-24 attempts and 75% from the free-throw line, making 12 of 16 attempts. In addition to his scoring, he contributed defensively, recording seven blocks and six steals throughout the season. He also managed to dish out five assists, showcasing his ability to impact the game in multiple areas.

Previous Experience and Performance

Before joining Clemson, Reeves spent two years at Duke, appearing in 16 games and scoring a total of 25 points. During his time with the Blue Devils, he was efficient as well, shooting 71.4% from the field, making 10 of 14 attempts, and totaling 18 rebounds, including 10 offensive rebounds. In his freshman season at Duke (2022-23), he played in 13 games, with six of those being in ACC competition.

Reeves’ sophomore year was marred by injury, as he missed a considerable amount of the season due to complications that eventually required right ankle surgery. Despite this setback, he entered college as a highly regarded player, noted as a former four-star prospect from Oak Hill Academy and ranked as the No. 5 player from North Carolina in the 2022 recruiting class by ESPN. At Oak Hill, he displayed his potential by averaging 9.2 points and 7.4 rebounds over 29 games.

College of Charleston’s Prospects

The College of Charleston recently concluded a successful season, finishing with a record of 24-9 and competing well in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) before losing to UNCW in the championship game. Coach Bernardi has expressed enthusiasm about adding Reeves to the team, highlighting his natural timing in blocking shots and the potential for him to impact games across various dimensions.

With Reeves’ move to Charleston, he will join a program that may provide him with the environment needed to thrive against lower levels of competition, allowing him to hone his skills further and potentially emerge as a more prominent player. As he transfers, Reeves will have two years of eligibility remaining, poised to make a significant contribution to the team moving forward.
