In the aftermath of the incident, Holloway has been charged with inflicting great bodily injury upon a child, while Holloway-Wilson is charged with unlawfully placing a child at risk. Both women were implicated in the child’s neglect, as Holloway-Wilson failed to seek medical treatment for the child despite being aware of the severe burns.

Holloway was arrested on May 6, while Holloway-Wilson has also been charged in connection with the neglect. Following their arrests, both Holloway-Wilson and Stafford were released after posting bond. In contrast, Holloway remains in custody and is held without bond. The investigation is being conducted by the Florence Police Department, the Florence County Coroner’s Office, and the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
