This weekend, both Charleston’s beaches and the Jersey Shore are expected to enjoy beautiful weather, perfect for kicking off summer activities. According to the Storm Tracker meteorologists, Charleston will experience mostly sunny skies with warm temperatures, while the Jersey Shore will welcome the unofficial start of summer with pleasant conditions.
In Charleston, thunderstorms that were anticipated to affect the area are expected to move out by this evening. As high pressure builds over the region, the forecast for the weekend includes fewer rain chances and milder humidity.
Even as the hurricane season officially begins on June 1st, there are currently no storms predicted to develop this week, making it a great time for beachgoers to enjoy the outdoors.
The Jersey Shore is set to usher in summer with mostly sunny weather. The forecast details are as follows:
Despite the pleasant weather, beachgoers should exercise caution due to the expected life-threatening rip currents in the surf zone. Swimmers are advised to stay vigilant and are reminded of safety measures in case they encounter a rip current—relaxing, floating, and calling for help can be critical.
The current marine conditions report for the Jersey Shore indicates:
In light of the favorable weather, Point Pleasant Beach will open its amusement rides at Jenkinson’s one weekend early. The operational hours for the rides are set from noon to 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to the rides, Jenkinson’s will host Easter festivities beginning March 24, which include an Easter Egg hunt at 1 p.m. The event will be organized by age group and will feature accessible options. Visitors can also enjoy free photos with the Easter Bunny on March 30 and 31 from noon to 3 p.m., as well as the annual Easter Parade on March 31 at 1 p.m.
With both Charleston and Jersey Shore set to experience delightful weather and community events this weekend, residents and visitors are encouraged to make the most of the summer kickoff. Experts advise remaining attentive to beach safety guidelines while enjoying the beautiful conditions.
