The excitement kicked off on Friday night when the Cougars squeaked out a narrow 5-4 victory against App State. It was a nail-biter for sure! Sophomore Brent Gibbs was on fire, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, grabbing everyone’s attention with four infield singles – a dazzling career best for him!
On the mound, junior Jake Brink had an impressive showing, racking up a career-high seven strikeouts over six innings. Although he didn’t snag the win, his efforts required lots of high-fives from the cheering crowd.
