College of Charleston Coach Chris Mack Lands First Three Verbal Commits
CHARLESTON, SC – College of Charleston basketball fans have reason to be excited as head coach Chris Mack secures his first three verbal commitments since taking over the program on April 2nd. The new additions to the Cougars’ roster come from the transfer portal, bringing in talent from various programs.
Meet the New Commits:
Djordje Curcic
Curcic, a 6-2 point guard from St. Louis University, brings a fresh perspective to the team after a season cut short due to injury. Despite playing only 18 games, Curcic showcased his shooting prowess by averaging 2.9 points and shooting 43 percent from beyond the 3-point line.
Lazar Djokovic
Standing at 6-10, Djokovic played for Xavier and brings size and versatility to the Cougars’ lineup. With seven starts under his belt in the 2023-24 season, Djokovic averaged 2.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
Derrin Boyd
Boyd, a 6-3 guard from Lipscomb, adds scoring punch to the team after averaging 17.6 points per game and earning second-team all-conference honors in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Boyd boasts nine 20-point games, including a standout 38-point performance against Florida Gulf Coast.
