The station, which has been a fixture in Charleston since it first began broadcasting on June 19, 1953, originally operated from studios on East Bay Street before relocating to its current facility on Charlie Hall Boulevard in West Ashley on December 5, 1997.

The annual Best of Charleston edition, which highlights winners across a plethora of categories encompassing food, arts, culture, and community service, remains a cherished tradition for locals. This year introduced fresh categories, including Best Dog Walker and Best Wedding Planner, alongside well-established favorites. Other celebrated categories recognized local favorites such as Hall’s Chophouse, which took home the award for Best Restaurant, and Lewis Barbecue, recognized as Best Barbecue.
