## Charleston-Based Greystar Discloses Data Breach

Greystar Real Estate Partners LLC, a real estate company based in Charleston, South Carolina, has disclosed a data breach that occurred in May 2026. An unauthorized third party accessed an employee email account and acquired certain files between May 1, 2026, and May 18, 2026.

The breach exposed personal information including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or Washington ID card numbers, financial and banking information, and full dates of birth. So far, 333 Washington residents have been impacted by this incident.

Greystar disclosed the breach to the attorneys general of Massachusetts and Washington on August 27, 2026, and began mailing consumer notification letters on the same day. The company is offering affected individuals 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services through Experian IdentityWorks. To enroll, individuals must visit the Experian IdentityWorks enrollment page and use the activation code provided in their notification letter by November 30, 2026.
