# Kiawah Island Golf Resort Proposed for Tour Championship

Charleston area golf enthusiasts are weighing in on future venues for the PGA Tour’s Tour Championship, with Kiawah Island Golf Resort among the courses suggested by readers for the event starting in 2028. The PGA Tour announced a plan for a two-week match-play format for the Tour Championship beginning in 2028, which includes moving the tournament to various venues across the country.

Two readers specifically named Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s Ocean Course as a preferred location. One reader from Luzerne, Pennsylvania, and another from Granville, Ohio, both put forward the Kiawah Island course as a potential host. The current host, East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, has been the subject of discussion regarding its future as a permanent venue.
