Heat stroke is a medical emergency requiring immediate action. Call 911 without delay. While waiting for emergency services, begin cooling the person by any means available, such as immersing them in cool water, applying cold compresses, or fanning them. Crucially, do not give a person experiencing heat stroke anything to drink.
